Hi, I’m Lena Walent, Owner and Web Designer/Strategist at Wild Walnut Design.
I love helping service based small business owners by designing and building websites that reflect the heart of their business and take potential clients on a path to working with them.
I have over 15 years of experience in web design, development and strategy as well as graphic design. I spent many years in the corporate and publishing world producing all things digital and creating marketing materials.
I know my way around coding and customizing a WordPress website with HTML and CSS, and I’m a pro with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
I have a BA in graphic design and and MBA in marketing. I never stop learning, and I’ve taken so many certificate and online courses in user experience, digital marketing and web design that I’ve lost count!
While I’ve spent a lot of time designing and building websites, I also worked for many years for educational publishing companies building templates for books, designing magazine layouts, as well as producing and migrating courses for online colleges.
I realized that web design and digital marketing are things that I enjoy so much, while it’s a way to help small businesses thrive and do what they do best. So, I decided to start my own business, Wild Walnut Design. (Get it? Walent – Walnut!)
I live in the Chicago suburbs with my husband and two kids (who are in college now!). When I’m not designing web sites, I garden in my backyard, try to cook healthy meals, travel to France and Italy, run 5Ks, and go for hikes in the woods.
